"Old Town, New Friends" is the moto that holds true for Mannigton W.V. Located in the hills of North-Central West Virginia, Mannington is a town rich in history and heritage. From Native American relics to fronteirsmen and their settlements to the Civil War legends, Mannington's early history is complete. Perhaps what makes Mannington most unique is the impact of the oil and gas boom in 1890 that literally changed the shape of the town.
Mannington's Historic Southside District is a quaint section of town landmarked by historic homes and buildings. Notorious Historic structures such as the Round Barn Museum, West Augusta Historical Society and log Cabin, numerous historic churches, Train Depot, Mannington Middle School, and the Prichard and Beaty Houses, all continue to bring tourism to the City of Mannington.
Numerous organizations such as Mannington Main Street, Mannington Womens Club, Business for Progress and the West Augusta Historical Society, continue to strive to make Mannington a better place to live and play.
